I have a solid belief system that drives my world - One Life!

We all get one life so let’s be present and make it the most fulfilling and happy experience that we can.

From a very young age, food has been a central part of my life. I have experienced fun, creativity, joy and love though food, but also some sadness and anxiety. Nowadays, as a busy working mom to 3 little people and a recovering perfectionist, it has never been more challenging and needed to have balance and calm in my life. I have always worked hard, been a high performer, earned success and for along time I sought out that classic ideal of “balance”.

 

Right now, for me it is challenging to eat perfectly every day and work out, to run a business, be a great mom, partner and friend and try to still have time to do “other great stuff ”. Now, I just try to embrace who I am, be more present, eat mindfully, bring more health and happiness into my life where I can an accept that “that is OK.”

On acknowledging this, living wholeheartedly and bringing a sense of acceptance and kindness to myself there has been a transformation in my life. 

I have never been more content, happy and grateful with all that I have.

For me, the greatest transformative piece has come from having developing a positive relationship with food and balance in that part of my life. 

How have I achieved this? By eating mindfully.

At the outset mindful eating might seem like some ‘wishy washy’ approach to food and eating but believe me when I tell you nothing is further from the truth. Eating mindfully and intuitively is one of the most simple, real and practical things you will ever do in your life.

 

Mindful eating strips away all the noise and confusion around food in our modern world and it  creates a freedom and flexibility from food anxiety while creating joy and happiness in your life.

With training in mindful eating and feeding therapy, as co-founder of Foodoppi ( Ireland’s children’s food experts), working as a TV cook and having travelled the work to discover the eating secrets of other cultures, I have uncovered a wealth of knowledge in relation to learning how to eat for happiness .

A core philosophy of mine is to eat real, simple wholesome foods full of flavour and to take the time to savour the moment and enjoy.
